Lauren Peedin

I grew up in Southern Virginia in a non-religious but church adjacent environment, attending youth social events at predominately Baptist churches. In my early 20s I completed RCIA through the Catholic Church, but did not complete my baptism and confirmation at that time.

After some twists and turns in life, I remained spiritual but not actively practicing my faith. I had the opportunity to move around the world working in business management and administration for the Department of Defense. After settling here in San Antonio in 2021, my life took a few more turns and I found myself unexpectedly solo-parenting.

I began to look for a church home in the summer of 2022. After visiting several denominations and churches, we found St. Andrew’s in January 2023, and jumped in rather quickly. My four children (Lizzy, Parker, Penelope, and Lilly) partner (Zachary,) and I are regular attendees at the Rite II and Rite III services. I was baptized into the Episcopal Church in March of 2024.

I’ve assisted with the Children’s Easter programming, Pride outreach event, completed Father David’s Essential Story class, and currently am in Year One of Education for Ministry through the Church.

I believe St. Andrew’s has so much potential to make a difference across many communities, especially the marginalized, here in San Antonio. I hope, with my professional experience, that I can help provide the framework to move us into the next phase of St. Andrews.
